Our Story

Our founder, Luis Olea, was born in Córdoba, Veracruz, Mexico, a place where coffee isn’t just a drink—it’s a way of life. At the age of ten, Luis was brought to the United States, stepping into a world where he didn’t yet speak the language. Learning English in middle school and high school, he quickly adapted, but growing up undocumented meant facing challenges most of his friends never had to think about.

While classmates were getting their first jobs and driver’s permits, Luis walked home, knowing his path was different. The weight of uncertainty was always there—until 2012, when DACA was introduced. For the first time, he could work legally, drive without fear, and feel somewhat normal. But that experience shaped him. It fueled a determination not just to build something for himself, but to create opportunities for others who understand what it means to fight for a future.

From Roots to Roast

Café Olea Rendon is a tribute to both where we come from and where we’re going. The name honors a family legacy, a love for tradition, and the hardworking spirit of those who never stop striving for more.
